From All Sides: Spatial Sound Forum 2026

How do pauses shape what we hear? What happens when listening becomes collective, spatial and intentional?

From All Sides is Catalyst’s annual Spatial Sound Forum, a three-day gathering dedicated to spatial and immersive sound practices. Hosted by the Berlin-based creative institute, the forum connects students, artists, producers, engineers and the wider spatial audio community through performances, workshops, talks and open listening sessions.

Framed by Gradients of Ma, this year’s edition explores interval, restraint and quiet as active compositional forces. The programme moves between immersive Dolby Atmos sessions, interactive installations, fixed media and live concerts, and critical conversations that question spatial sound beyond format or hype.

Sessions take place across Catalyst’s education and social spaces at Funkhaus, with a special site-responsive multichannel setup in Saal 4 developed in collaboration with Spatial Media Lab for selected performances and installations.
