Ambient Distortion and Tranceversal Voices converge at Bar Neun for an evening of transversal sonic practice, bringing together Abigail Toll, Julia Witas, and Tengal for a series of solo and hybrid live performances.

Abigail Toll’s minimalist and drone-based electroacoustic works draw from psychoacoustics, alternate tuning systems, and tonal deviation, shaping prismatic environments attuned to deep listening. Moving across music, film, and performance, Julia Witas explores transformative dimensions of sound, crafting cinematic soundscapes from field recordings, dynamic vocals, and sculptural breath – balancing fragility with distortion-laden intensity.
Through modular synthesis and signal manipulation, Tengal positions feedback as structure, distortion as inscription – memory lodged in circuitry – where sonic material folds onto itself and destabilizes its own transmission.

Each artist will present a solo live set before entering into shared configurations — duos and trios formed in real time. These first-time encounters trace both consonance and fracture, testing how distinct sonic vocabularies can intersect, resist, and recompose themselves. The evening proposes sound not as a fixed format, but as a relational field: a space where difference becomes material.
