Aus dem Maschinenraum is an immersive concert installation for loudspeakers, video, cello, bass clarinet, live electronics and live overhead projections, with field recordings and interview fragments, which was developed from intensive research and the examination of the sound characteristics of the combustion engine.
They are supplemented with snippets from interviews with specialists and vehicle enthusiasts, which reveal a relationship between man and machine that goes right down to the personal level. They combine to form a swansong to the combustion engine.
