Since 2017, sound artist Gerriet Krishna Sharma and recorder virtuoso Susanne Fröhlich have been exploring immersive performance constellations in which interactions between sound, space and time are re-examined and composed into a holistic experience. The space becomes a living, pulsating organism full of poetry, and the audience becomes part of it. ‘daisy plane vol. 01’ is about the integration of the classical instrument (Paetzold subcontrabass recorder) and the instrumentalist as a human body into the sound world of 3D sound projection (icosahedral loudspeakers) and spatial excitation (subwoofer tower), and this in interaction with the respective architecture of the performance space. In the process, the conditions for the composition of ‘hybrid’ sounds are systematically developed, i.e. the two artists pursue neither electronic playback nor instrumental accompaniment, but sculptural sound formations that are only possible through the compositional intertwining of these instruments. For Art Week Berlin, the two artists Filip Zorzor and Matthias Reinmuth are opening their doors in their studios on Kühnemannstraße. ‘daisy plane vol. 01’ will be installed and performed over three days in dialogue with the visual works of both artists in their studios.
