The publishing house for contemporary music »Edition Juliane Klein« is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024 with the exhibition »Fünfgezackt in die Hand. Arbeiten mit / um / für Musik«.
The exhibition is situated at the interface between the visual arts and music, opening up spaces, shifting genre-specific limits and examining the changing relationships between the two art forms as well as space as a social concept. The artistic approach and reflection on content are emphasized simultaneously.
The artworks include contributions by the two artists Ulrike Dornis and Jens Hanke, who have created all the graphic designs for Edition Juliane Klein for over 20 years, as well as cross-media and cross-genre works by the composers represented by EJK. These include sound installations, video works, graphic scores and autographs. In addition, graphic works by Dornis and Hanke developed especially for the publishing house will be presented.
The installations by Annesley Black, Peter Gahn, Michael Hirsch and Elnaz Seyedi take up conventional notions of space and spatiality, deconstructing and reassembling them to enable alternative perspectives and critical reflection.
Exhibition: 29.9. to 12.10., daily from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
During this time, events (concerts, performances, lectures, talks, workshops) will be held in the exhibition rooms daily at 7 p.m.
