Heroines of Sound Festival – Sound Art

Heroines of Sound 2026 creates spaces of resonance for pioneering voices in electronic music and sound art. Through radical sonic worlds and distinctive artistic approaches, the festival’s artists actively shape the aesthetic discourses of our time. The thirteenth edition explores an interdisciplinary landscape of immersive, performative and kinetic works, where new constellations continuously emerge at the intersections of sound, performance and technology.

The festival opens with »Airchoir No. 2: Dirges for (26) Coded Organ Voices« by Anouk Kellner, an installation inviting audiences to explore a polyphonic, algorithmically organized body of sound. Here, coded organ voices condense into a sonic architecture oscillating between sensual and mechanical articulation.

Opening Performance

Anouk Kellner transforms the Airchoir into a performative space where subtle actions and precise interventions create a dialogue between sound, site and audience. By guiding, manipulating, interacting with, and repositioning organ pipes – removing them from their conventional context – she reimagines the organ’s sounds as open material. The result is an invitation to experience new forms of attention and listening.
