Identities Quartet is a free jazz/free improv ensemble that brings together musicians from different countries who live in Berlin.
The music created by the ensemble members in real time manifests the power of improvisation as a universal musical language capable of uniting representatives of different cultures.

Berlin-based saxophonist Mia Dyberg plays jazz and free improvisation. Her unique melodic expression arises from sound experiments & Scandinavian melancholy.

Berlin-based Russian composer and pianist Roman Stolyar is considered one of the key figures in Russian improvised music. He has performed in many countries with a number of internationally renowned improvisers.

Samuel Hall, drummer and percussionist, is also interdisciplinary, drawing his music from a deep sonic palette of evolving musical structures, timbres and sound systems.

Horst Nonnenmacher has been active in the jazz improv scene for many years. He is also active as a bassist and composer in other projects such as theater, musicals and klezmer music.
