El Perro Andaluz, founded in 2007 in collaboration with Brian Ferneyhough, is one of the most versatile contemporary music ensembles in Germany. Inspired by the film Un chien andalou, the ensemble combines experimentation, provocation and new forms of expression. Whether music theater, installation or concert, the ensemble interprets existing works and develops new ones together with composers. With more than 80 premieres throughout Europe, it has established itself as a creative partner. Since 2016, the ensemble has been based at the Zentralwerk in Dresden, where it initiates transdisciplinary projects.
