For small organizations and businesses, it can be challenging to stay protected from cyberattacks and security threats. In this hands-on workshop, Michael Rosen introduces the fundamentals of IT security and demonstrates simple yet effective measures to remain defended in the digital space.

- Understanding IT Security: What are the biggest threats? How can they be identified and avoided?
- Antivirus software and firewalls: Which programs are reliable and how can they be used effectively?
- Password managers: How to best create and manage secure passwords easily.
- Encryption: Protecting sensitive data – from emails to files.
- Computer maintenance and backup: Regular maintenance and data backup as the foundation of a secure IT infrastructure.

After the workshop, there will be time until 18:30 to ask specific questions.

This workshop is designed for anyone working in small organizations, regardless of prior experience.

Michael Rosen is a curator and concert organizer and has lived in Berlin since 2004. He founded the independent cultural agency Digital in Berlin in 2008, a curated platform for cultured music between avant-garde, pop culture and interdisciplinary arts. Since then, he has curated numerous festivals and concert series, including the MADEIRADiG Festival and the popular music series Kiezsalon in Berlin. With Digital in Berlin he supports, advises and develops collaborative cultural offerings, creates visibility for sectoral and cross-sectoral events and helps to make better economic use of cultural and artistic potential. He has been working with networks, computers and new technologies since 1995. With his IT agency, he maintains, manages and optimizes networks and computers for small and medium-sized companies.
