Stine Janvin & Morten Joh pres. Death Songs

Death Songs is a new project by Stine Janvin (voice and electronics) and Morten Joh (synths and percussion), drawing inspiration from death-related music. They focus on the »Liksong« tradition from their native south-western Norway, known for its slow, eerie funeral procession songs. Analyzing archive recordings, they rediscover the use of neutral intervals, recreating them in a voice-driven, microtonal electronic music. Morten Joh has been influential in various musical constellations, while Stine Janvin is known for her conceptual vocal works and interdisciplinary art, presented internationally.
