T. Gowdy pres. Trill Scan + Alexandra Grübler

The music of T. Gowdy represents a cross pollination between distinct traditions of polyphony, specifically drawn from the 12th century Notre Dame School and the 17th century early baroque style. The two language archetypes have contrasting ontologies, reflecting notions of domination and order on one hand, and on the other, a liberated interplay between selected pitch entities. // Berlin-based musician Alexandra Grübler is interested in the alchemical qualities and speculative spaces of autonomy in sound, intonation and rhythm. With the solo project Baal & Mortimer, her artistic practice employs a dialogue-based interaction of instruments such as psaltery and bagpipes, electronics, acoustic artefacts and poetics.
