Under the Autumn Stars
The concert Unter den Herbststernen takes the audience into a musical world dedicated to nature, change, and the dialogue between voices. The focus is on constant change: the musicians come into contact with each other, sense, complement, and react to one another. Sounds, noises, movement, and improvised passages create a unique soundscape that unfolds anew in each of the three concerts.
The Siemienczuk/Newill-Smith/Notte trio was formed in Milan in 2023. Lisa Newill-Smith, Tania Notte, and Olga Siemienczuk met there in a master class for modern vocal music under the direction of Alda Caiello. Their first piece together was the song cycle Sotto stelle autunnali by Giorgio Colombo Taccani, based on texts by Georg Trakl. During this collaboration, the three singers realized how well their voices harmonize and form a very special tonal unity.
This initial experience inspired the trio to pursue further projects and led to a collaboration with four composers in the summer of 2024, who wrote new works specifically for this vocal constellation. The pieces are dedicated to the theme of nature and, by alternating between harmonic and experimental moments, create a musical journey that never repeats itself.
The performance of Unter den Herbststernen invites the audience to immerse themselves in a sonic sphere in which nature and humanity, movement and stillness, classical song and avant-garde meet and are constantly in a state of flux.
