FrauVonDa//

Grafik_FrauVonDa

FrauVonDa// is an intermedia new music ensemble under the artistic direction of Claudia van Hasselt and Nicolas Wiese. Since 2013, they have been creating transdisciplinary works between art, science and society. With various international partners, the ensemble creates multi-sensory experiences dedicated to the unheard, unseen and yet-to-be-discovered – often without words, yet in diverse languages.

FrauVonDa// addresses socially and ecologically relevant topics emotionally and cognitively at the same time. The collective combines artistic form with research-based openness and invites active participation.
FrauVonDa// breaks down boundaries between genres, disciplines and geography – respectfully, empathetically, based on a broad spectrum of artistic skills.
FrauVonDa// is developing a constantly growing network of natural scientists, historians, musicians, activists and interested parties of the general public.
The core idea of these projects is to build up an inclusive, interactive community, welcoming a heterogenous scope of perspectives and sensual perceptions – anchored locally, cross-linked internationally.

With the interactive senSONICtalk©, FrauVonDa// is developing an innovative concert format that oscillates between science, new music and audience participation. Conversation becomes music, improvisation becomes dialogue. Sound art, visual projections, vibration, scientific facts and oral history merge, creating a new, sensual and experimental form. We find ourselves inside the liminal space between science and the artistic vision that originates from it.

Further information is available on FrauVonDa’s website, on YouTube, in a publication by ArtMusicDenmark, and in a feature by SWR Kultur.
