Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop
Founded in Berlin in 2006, Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop has been dedicated from the outset to developing new forms of experimental music theatre. Over the years, its members have evolved from being purely instrumentalists to becoming musical performers and co-authors of collaborative productions. Kaleidoskop sees music theatre as a space for encounter and community – a space with the power to imagine different futures.
With its distinctly interdisciplinary and collaborative approach, the ensemble continuously engages with artists from a wide range of genres and cultural backgrounds. In recent years, the exploration of the body has moved further into the center of its work. This has led to collaborations with artists such as Laurent Chétouane, Susanne Kennedy, Isabel Lewis, Pol Pi, Ariel Efraim Ashbel, Black Cracker, Anika, Maya Dunietz, Ethan Braun, Wojtek Blecharz, Adam Linder, Annika Kahrs, the Dance On Ensemble, and the EnsembleWhatWhyArt (Seoul).
Kaleidoskop's productions have been presented at festivals such as Ruhrtriennale, Foreign Affairs, Wiener Festwochen, Holland Festival, Romaeuropa, Tongyeong International Music Festival, and Kunstfestspiele Herrenhausen, as well as in renowned venues like deSingel in Antwerp, Kaaitheater Brussels, Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, Sophiensaele, Kampnagel in Hamburg, and Hellerau – European Centre for the Arts in Dresden. In Berlin, the ensemble has been working regularly with Radialsystem since 2008.
