Edition Juliane Klein’s four-part workshop series in collaboration with inm / field notes Berlin
A series of in-person workshops on everything one should know about being a composer in Germany: with a focus on administrative, organizational, and financial aspects. Organized by the Edition Juliane Klein in collaboration with field notes and guest speakers from the Deutschen Musikrat, the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung, and the practice in general.
These events are primarily intended for composers who are at the beginning of their careers, or still completing their studies, who want to orient and professionalize themselves. All experienced composers who wish to expand their knowledge in one area or another, or share it with the workshop participants, are likewise cordially invited. Additionally, the events will be accessible to anyone interested in the topics, regardless of their career.
The four workshops will take place on October 6th and 7th 2024, in the KUNSTPUNKT BERLIN – Raum für aktuelle Kunst, Schlegelstr. 6 in Berlin-Mitte; and are planned to last 60-90 minutes each. Attendance is free of charge. It is possible to attend the entire workshop series, or individual parts of it. The workshops are designed to be independent of one another.
The workshop language is German, with the exception of Workshop I.

Workshop on the question, what advantages and disadvantages the marketing and distribution of one’s own music in a self-publisher, a publisher, and/or an agency has and for whom each model possibly right is.
