The French-Swiss string quartet Quatuor LGBS, founded in 2017, is characterised by four-part improvisation with the aim of creating an original ensemble sound, made up of the convergence and overlapping of complementary sounds. The sound material unfolds continuously, always remaining alive and flexible in its own transformation. For their unusual and unique sonic synergy, the four musicians draw on the richness and diversity of their individual and collective experiences.

Anouck Genthon is a violinist. In her musical work she places particular emphasis on sound and listening. She explores the possibilities of her instrument and develops a personal language based on improvisation and composition. Her interest in sound is also expressed in installations that integrate walking in situ. She listens to her surroundings and develops her work from the conditions under which sound travels and how it is perceived.

Patricia Bosshard follows an unconventional and experimental path. After studying classical music in Montréal, composition and electro-acoustic music in Geneva and jazz in Lausanne, she developed her own language based on experimental and improvised music, with a particular focus on sound. Her compositions reflect her work with electronics and her questions about the world of sound that surrounds us.

For several years, Marie Schwab’s music has reflected a concern in which communication, interdisciplinarity and the interpersonal relationships that link sound to space occupy a central place. After studying violin and viola in Neuchâtel, Zurich, Basel, San Francisco and Benares, she improvises, interprets and composes all over the world with numerous partners from all artistic disciplines.

Soizic Lebrat is an artist and cellist. Trained as a classical musician (1st prize at the Conservatoire) and music historian (doctorate in the cultural history of music), Soizic Lebrat has expanded her interpretive practice to include improvisation, composition and music research. Committed to an experimental approach, she realises creative projects that question and reflect on each of her attitudes and incorporate scientific research spaces by experimenting with the practices and processes she uses.
