This performance takes a picnic as a gesture to share an archive through storytelling, listening, myth, taste, smell and rest. It offers a playful space to explore the potentials of non-linear strategies in the preservation of memory making in the context of colonial and post-colonial experience. It is about the importance of the body as archive, orality and food in the preservation of identity and a sense of home. Playing with what Anjali Arondekar terms “re-presenting absence,” the work hosts those that have been lost or silenced as guests of honour at the picnic.
