The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation has founded the Ensemble Prize to provide long-term, individual support for the structural and artistic development of young ensembles. It comes with up to € 75.000 for each ensemble.

Numerous ensembles have discovered that – in a period of increasing professionalism – their success is accompanied by greater structural, legal, organisational and financial burdens. It is with this stabilisation phase that the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation would like to provide assistance through its award. It is important that a long-term solution can be suggested and implemented by the ensemble within the space of the award period.

Applications for the Ensemble Prizes 2026 are open from 1 January to 1 March 2025. Young, professional ensembles in the stabilisation phase can apply. Two thirds of the ensemble members should be younger than 35. The ensemble should be dedicated exclusively to contemporary repertoire. Applications are open to international and German ensembles. The funding period for applications submitted by March 2025 extends through 2026.

The prize is awarded independently of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation’s other funding programmes. Applications for the Ensemble Prize and project funding applications can be submitted at the same time.

Next application deadline for Funding Projects: March 1, 2025
